I am feeling pretty tired, lately.
It’s tired in a good way, though; accompanied by that sense of fulfillment that comes from a job well done… J.C. and I have been hard at work on the non-profit, attempting to get Miss Annie in her forever home, and sometimes I find that it’s after 12:00 once I finally lay down in the bed- of course, then it’s another hour until I can drift off…that’s what happens when your brain is caught in the hyper-drive mode.
But I like it. I wouldn’t change it for anything, and we are well on our way to becoming 501 (C)(3). It’s incredibly exciting- all the things we are learning that we never considered until now, until we were knee deep in it. Budgets, projections of earnings, donations, and expenses are typical after dinner conversation now. We already have our EIN, too. It’s amazing how fast an idea takes form from thought when you push all the right buttons. There are questionnaires and spreadsheets to fill out, and web pages that need to be built. I’ve designed brochures, a banner, business cards, and even an application for assistance in MS Word- all within the last five days. I’m getting ready to purchase a lap top, so we can carry a Power Point presentation with us to our fundraisers. We have our Bubbles for Bullies fundraiser on April 21st, and the first committee meeting for our National Pit Bull Awareness Day 2012 the week after that. We’re also helping our friends Solace Rescue at the Humane Society Doggie Carnival on May 6th, and in between all of that (because it’s obviously not enough) I’m wondering how I can coerce my wonderful partner into building me some agility obstacles for the back yard. ..My creative side is in full bloom these days and I feel like I’m running at 100 mph- but, again, I like it.

Tracy, you're in such a great zone right now! You're doing good work, producing good writing, taking care of the fur babies and your partner. It's a blessing to be busy; enjoy! I'm proud to know you!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Louise-I'm such a fan of your writing and your stories that you have no idea how much that means to me! You've made my day:)
DeleteYou will probably look back on this active part of your life with a smile, wondering how you managed to accomplish it all.
ReplyDeleteNah- after the excitement I've had in my life, I should consider this down time.
DeleteYou are one crazy busy chica, Mrs. Wilson! But that's a GOOD thing, because it's what you want and in turn, what you seem to need in your life at the moment. I see all of these amazing dreams bustin' outta you and coming to life and if you were standing in front of me right now, the first thing you'd notice is that I'm grinning from ear to ear. :~))) (those are all smiles... not chins, btw)
ReplyDeleteI might be a wee bit exhausted just thinking about everything you have going on and yep, I wish you could bottle some of that energy up and send a little my way, but I LOVE that you're feeling so fulfilled. And I TOTALLY LOVE that you're sharing it all with us.
Thank you for helping me feel a whole lot better today. I needed it... XOXO ~M.
